Living Inside Out: Developing a Practical Awareness of Who You Are in Christ

DAY 2 OF 10

IDENTITY THEFT - DON'T LET THE DEVIL SCAM YOU

“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”Colossians 3:3

If you’ve never been scammed, you may not know how annoying it could be. Now imagine a spiritual scam where the enemy convinces you that you’re someone you’re not; that’s identity theft 101. Satan’s mission is to get you to doubt who you are in Christ so you’ll live beneath your privileges. He can’t take your salvation, so he tries to take your confidence.

The devil whispers things like “You’re not really saved,” or “God can’t use someone like you.” But God doesn’t hide your identity in your feelings. He hid it in Christ—safe, secure, and untouchable. That means the only way to find your true self is to look at Jesus, not your track record.

So here’s the hack: every time a condemning or doubtful thought comes, respond like Jesus did, with the Word. When the enemy says, “You’re not enough,” reply, “I am complete in Christ (Col. 2:10).” When he says, “You’ve failed too much,” reply, “There is no condemnation for those in Christ (Rom. 8:1).” Fight fire with fire, and God’s Word is the fire extinguisher.

Another practical tip is to keep an “Identity Arsenal,” a note on your phone or wall listing who you are in Christ. Visit it daily like a spiritual mirror. You’re not faking it till you make it, you’re "faithing" it because Christ already made it.

Prayer and Confession

My identity is not up for debate. I am hidden in Christ, untouchable by the enemy’s lies. I know who I am, and I walk in that truth. Hallelujah!
