DAY 4 OF 9

Process — What Does the Kingdom of God Produce in Us?

Growth takes time.

We live in a world that prizes instant results, quick progress, and immediate answers—but God’s kingdom doesn’t work that way. The kingdom grows through process, not pressure.

Jesus described the kingdom of God using stories about seeds, soil, yeast, and harvests. Why? Because nothing illustrates the nature of His kingdom better than something that grows slowly, quietly, and steadily.

Mark 4:26–27 says, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.”

The growth is real, but it’s not always visible. Something is happening beneath the surface long before you see the results. That’s how God works in us. We want transformation to happen overnight.

We want maturity without struggle and fruit without patience. But the kingdom produces something deeper and stronger than quick fixes.

The kingdom produces perseverance—the ability to keep going even when you don’t see progress.
It produces character—the kind of steady, humble strength that remains when emotions fade.
It produces conviction—a heart anchored to God’s truth rather than circumstances.
And it produces fruit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

You can’t microwave these things. They grow slowly as you remain in Christ. Spiritual growth happens the same way a seed grows: Quietly. Consistently. In stages. Often in ways you don’t recognize until later.

The process may feel slow, but slow isn’t bad when God is in it. God isn’t just trying to change you—He’s trying to form you. He works on the inside first, strengthening your roots so the fruit He produces will last.

Sometimes the process involves pruning. God removes things that are holding you back: old habits, unhealthy attitudes, false beliefs, pride, or distractions. It doesn’t feel pleasant, but pruning is proof that He’s preparing you for growth.

John 15:2 says, “Every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

If God is pruning you, it’s because He sees what you can’t yet see—future fruit, future influence, future strength.

The kingdom of God produces something else in us too: patience. Not patience that just waits for time to pass, but patience that trusts the One who holds the times and seasons. He knows when your next step is coming. He knows how to align the right people, opportunities, and timing. He knows what you need long before you feel ready.

When you surrender to God’s process, you stop trying to force what only He can grow. You learn to rest, trust, and stay rooted. And over time, you begin to see the result of His work:
A life that is stronger.
A heart that is steadier.
A faith that is unshakable.

You may not feel like you’re growing right now. But if His kingdom is in you, you are. Keep trusting the process—because what God starts, He finishes.
