Unstoppable Alignment: A 10-Day Brave Coaches JourneySample

Alignment Starts With Surrender
“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23 (NLT)
“The greatness of a man’s power is in the measure of his surrender.” William Booth
Alignment with God does not begin with action—it begins with surrender. Not the weak kind of surrender forced by defeat, but the courageous kind that says, “I choose God’s way over mine—no matter the cost.” Before God uses a man, He conquers him. Before God trusts a man with influence, He first leads that man to a cross.
Jesus didn’t say, “Believe in Me and everything will be comfortable.” He said, “Take up your cross daily.” The cross is not jewelry—it’s execution. It means dying to self-will, selfish ambition, pride, ego, and control. Surrender is not a moment; it is a daily posture before God: “Not my will - but yours be done.”
Why is surrender required for alignment? Because a divided heart cannot follow God with clarity or power. A man who tries to hold on to his own agenda while claiming to follow Jesus will always live frustrated. You can’t have God’s direction while holding on to your own control. Full alignment requires full surrender.
Look at Abraham. Before he became the father of many nations, God asked him to surrender—the familiar land he knew, the timeline he expected, and later, even his own son Isaac. Abraham didn’t become powerful because he was talented; he became powerful because he was surrendered. God builds movements through surrendered men.
By contrast, King Saul lost his destiny because he refused to surrender. He obeyed partially, which is disobedience in disguise. He wanted God’s favor without full obedience. Men still try that today—partial surrender, partial obedience, partial alignment. But partial alignment produces full drift.
Surrender is not loss—it is exchange. When you surrender pride, God gives purpose. When you surrender fear, He gives courage. When you surrender control, He releases clarity. When you surrender your life, He gives you something worth dying for. Surrender isn’t God trying to break you—it’s God trying to build you.
The Brave Truth: Alignment doesn’t begin when a man makes a move. It begins when he lays something down.
Reflection Question: What is God asking me to surrender so I can walk in full alignment with Him?
Action Step: Identify one area you’ve been resisting God in—control, pride, anger, lust, comfort, excuses—and surrender it to Him today in prayer.
