Unstoppable Alignment: A 10-Day Brave Coaches JourneySample

Assignment Follows Alignment
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." Matthew 6:33 (NLT)
“God does not give the assignment first—He gives direction first. Once you align, He assigns.” A.W. Tozer
Every man wants to know his purpose. We want clarity about calling, impact, and destiny. But God rarely reveals assignment to men who are out of alignment. Purpose follows obedience. Vision follows surrender. God will not show you the next step until you’ve obeyed the last one.
Too many men chase calling before character, platform before purity, influence before intimacy. They want God’s plan without God’s process. But the order never changes: alignment first, assignment second. God doesn’t give blueprints to rebels. He gives direction to sons who walk in step with Him.
Think of Abraham. His assignment—to become the father of nations—didn’t begin until he aligned his steps with God’s command to leave his country and his comfort. God’s promise didn’t unfold in Ur—it unfolded on the road of obedience. When Abraham aligned, his assignment activated.
Moses found the same truth. For forty years he wandered the wilderness, broken and hidden. Only when his heart aligned with God’s will at the burning bush did his true assignment begin. His calling didn’t start when he saw the flame—it started when he took off his sandals in surrender. Alignment precedes authority, and humility precedes power.
Many men are asking, “God, what do You want me to do?” when God is asking, “Will you walk where I lead?” Once a man aligns his heart, purpose flows naturally. Your role is obedience; God’s role is assignment. When the soldier stands at attention, the commander speaks.
The truth is, misaligned men often chase good things in the wrong order. They chase opportunity instead of obedience, position instead of purpose, status instead of stewardship. But when you seek first the Kingdom, every assignment that matters will find you. Alignment doesn’t delay your destiny—it protects it.
The Brave Truth: Stop chasing your calling and start chasing your Commander. Alignment activates assignment.
Reflection Question: Have I been seeking the assignment before seeking alignment with God?
Action Step: Before asking God for clarity on your next step, pray, “God, align my heart with Yours.” Listen. Then move only when He leads.
