The Cross of ChristSample

The God Who Was, Is, and Is to Come
At the heart of everything God has done, is doing, and will do stands the cross of Christ. It is the point where past, present, and future meet - the place where His power and love are forever proven. Revelation calls Him“the Alpha and the Omega, the One who was, and is, and is to come.” The cross is not just something He did; it reveals who He is. The same Jesus who stretched out His arms then still reaches toward us now.
God has never changed. He was powerful then, and He is powerful now. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the grave still breathes life into those who feel weary or dry. Yet so often we live as if the cross were only an event in history rather than an invitation to life today. We look back at what God did, instead of expecting what He can do right now. The truth of the cross is not meant to be remembered only - it is meant to be experienced.
When Jesus gave His life, He didn’t just save us from something; He saved us for something. His sacrifice opened the way for us to live with His Spirit alive within us. The wind that blew through Calvary’s hill still blows today - the breath of God reviving what has become dry and lifeless. Like Ezekiel’s vision of the valley of bones, the Spirit says again, “Come, breath, from the four winds, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.”
But to receive that breath, we must surrender. The cross calls us to lay down our self-reliance, our sin, and our need for control. A surrendered life is where true life begins. Jesus gave everything for us, and He asks us to do the same—not out of duty, but out of love. When we surrender, we are not losing - we are returning. We are opening our hearts for the same power that conquered death to work in us.
The cross of Christ is not only the proof of His love; it is the pathway to new life. God is still moving, still redeeming, still calling His people to rise. He was, He is, and He will be - forever the same. And He invites you today to stop looking back, lift your eyes, and live in the power of the cross.
