Back to the Basics 365

DAY 262 OF 365

Why should the church baptize believers?

Baptism is part of the Great Commission given to the church.

Baptism does not save a person, but it is a public declaration that they have put their faith in Jesus Christ. It is an outward expression of an inward decision. Going under the water pictures Christ’s death and burial, and rising from the water pictures His resurrection.

It testifies to the world that you have been saved and now walk in new life with Christ.

If you have trusted Christ but never followed Him in baptism, take that step. And as a church, we must faithfully baptize believers to obey Christ’s command and to boldly display the gospel.
