Back to the Basics 365

DAY 231 OF 365

The Christian life is not a life that is meant to be spent alone. Those who are in the Body of Christ are considered our brothers and sisters in Christ. We have others around us who love us and want us to have victory in our journey as disciples.

One great way to see victory over sin and temptation is accountability. Overcome temptation by asking trusted people for help. If you feel bound by a habitual sin, ask a mature Christian you trust to pray with you, to help you, and to encourage you. James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Other disciples of Jesus are also products of grace, and God enables each person to help one another. Other Christians can help you as they can teach you lessons, so you won't have to learn the hard way.

Godly friends can pray for you and be a source of spiritual accountability in your life.
