Remembering Who God Is This Christmas SeasonSample

God is Our Counselor
1. Spend a few moments praising God for being our Counselor.
Definition: One who gives advice, guidance, and direction
2. Next, spend a few moments silently confessing your sins to our loving God who forgives.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (NASB)
3. Now, let's spend some time thanking our heavenly Father for the many ways He has been our Counselor.
In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NASB)
4. Then, let us pray: LORD, may I say with confidence, “I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” From Psalm 16:7-8
Lastly, put your child’s name (or someone who needs prayer) in the scripture prayer: LORD, may ________ say with confidence, “I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” From Psalm 16:7-8
About this Plan

Moms in Prayer uses the Four Steps of Prayer method to engage our hearts in relationship with our loving Father. Each day's plan calls us to focus on a unique attribute of God to help us keep Him at the center of this Christmas season. This plan uses the steps of Praise, Confession (Repentance), Thanksgiving, Intercession (asking for help with whatever we or our loved ones are facing). Each prayer is accompanied by Bible passages that give us a deeper understanding of God's attributes.
