The Pursuit - 12 WeeksSample

Picture the scene: professional fishermen cleaning empty nets after another fruitless night. Jesus steps into Simon Peter’s boat, borrows it as a pulpit, and then turns the pulpit into a front-row miracle. When Peter obeys Jesus’ strange instruction to drop the nets again, they overflow with fish. It’s an unmistakable sign that Jesus isn’t just another traveling preacher—He’s Lord over wind, water, and work. Peter’s immediate reaction is humility: “Go away from me, Lord; I’m a sinful man.” And Jesus replies with the invitation that changes everything: “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.”
That moment captures the essence of engagement. Jesus doesn’t start with a sermon about sin; He meets Peter on the shore of his everyday life, speaks Peter’s language, and shows him God’s power in the middle of ordinary labor. True disciple-making still works that way. It begins in real places—with coworkers, classmates, or family—where we demonstrate God’s presence through everyday obedience.
Reflection:
Where is your “boat”? In what ordinary space might Jesus want to turn your daily routine into a moment of divine encounter for someone else?
