The Divine Exchange: Trading Your Plans for God’s Purpose

DAY 29 OF 30

When Obedience Bears Fruit

If you’ve ever planted anything, you know waiting for fruit can test your theology. You water, weed, and whisper encouragement to the soil — yet, for weeks, nothing happens. Then one morning, almost silently, green shoots appear.

That’s exactly what obedience felt like for me. For a long time, all I saw was soil. I had obeyed God, closed my business, and followed Him into the unknown. There were many nights when I thought, “Did I really hear right?” But obedience is a seed — it takes time to germinate.

Years later, I began to see fruit. Hundreds of books published. Thousands of African authors trained. Many nations in Africa and overseas connected. What once looked like loss turned into a global movement for Kingdom literature. And every bit of it began with one word — yes.

But here’s the truth: fruit doesn’t always appear where you planted it. Sometimes the seed you sow in tears grows into someone else’s testimony. That’s how grace multiplies — quietly, generously, and often out of sight.

Today, when I see the fruit of obedience, I smile. Not because it’s perfect, but because it’s proof — proof that God’s way works, even when it doesn’t make sense.

Lesson
Obedience may cost you in the moment, but it always pays in eternity. What begins in surrender ends in fruitfulness. God never forgets a seed sown in faith — even the buried ones bloom in their appointed season.
