Tehillah (תְּהִלָּה) - Praise & songs that lift God up
"You are holy, enthroned on the praises (tehillah) of Israel” (Psalm 22:3 NIV).
Tehillah means to sing a new song—praise that comes straight from your heart. It’s not about rehearsed words or a perfect melody; it’s the kind of worship that rises from a deep place of gratitude and trust.
Isaiah 61:3 (NIV) says that God gives us “a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” That means praise is a choice. Just like getting dressed for the day, you decide to put it on. Even when life feels heavy, you can choose to lift your hands and worship.
Some of us have carried worry, fear, or exhaustion for too long, when freedom was available all along. Praise is the key that unlocks that freedom. It shifts your focus from what’s wrong, to who God is. It reminds you that He is your Defender, your Provider, and your Father, and that you are deeply loved.
When you put on that garment of praise, the heaviness lifts. Joy returns. God’s presence fills your heart and your home.
PRAYER:
God, I choose to put on the garment of praise today. Replace my heaviness with joy, and let Your presence fill my heart as I sing to You. Let my praise come before Your Holy Presence. I pray in Jesus' Name, Amen.

They are some of the most powerful and descriptive, giving us a deeper understanding of what God means when He invites us to worship Him. As you go through each of these seven words this week, take time to be intentional—not just with your words or songs, but with the posture of your heart in worship.
