DAY 4 OF 25

Day 4: The Lord Who Comes

Reflection:

“The Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to His temple.” But His coming is not tame—it’s refining fire. We might call this the “fearful hope” of Advent.

Though we are right to celebrate Jesus’ coming as good news for all, the reality is that it upsets the order of the world we so often find comfortable. We should never be so proud as to think that Jesus will not challenge us as well. God will pick away at everything we cling to until we belong to Him unconditionally. God’s arrival comes with the complete stripping away of everything that blocks our unity with Him.

Meditation: Are you open to being refined by God’s arrival?

About this Plan

Advent

Advent is more than a countdown to Christmas. It is a season of holy waiting, of longing in the dark for the Light that is coming. We not only look back to the manger, but forward to Christ’s return in glory. Advent trains our hearts to be awake and expectant, anchoring us in the hope of God’s promises. This 25-day plan invites you to slow down, reflect, and rediscover the meaning of Advent. Together we will journey through Scripture, prayer, and meditation, remembering that the coming of Jesus is not sentimental tradition, but a world-shaking reality.
