Serving in 3 Steps

DAY 3 OF 3

SERVE WITH PASSION

Romans 12:11–12: “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

The letter to the Romans was written by the apostle Paul around A.D. 57, from Corinth. At that time, the Christians in Rome formed a small community, facing both internal tensions (Jews and Gentiles in the same church) and external pressure (living in a city marked by idolatry and luxury).

In the midst of that hostile environment, Paul calls them to live out a practical Christianity, showing that true worship is not limited to the temple but encompasses every area of life (Romans 12:1). That’s why, in verses 11–12, he connects service to the way we handle our emotions in the face of reality.

Serving God is not just about doing things:
it is done with passion,
with joy in hope,
and with perseverance in prayer.

God calls you today to serve with a heart on fire.

- Sebastián Paulino.
