Following Jesus at Christmas

DAY 14 OF 25

Jesus asked the disciples, “Who do people say I am?” (Matthew 16:15) And Peter responded with the revelation of Jesus as the Messiah (v. 16). It’s an important question we all have to answer: “Who do you say He is?” Our upbringing can often impact what we’ve been taught, and life experiences can shape our perspective. While our opinion doesn’t change who He is, our agreement or rejection of who He is will change how we live and what we receive from Him. Do you see Jesus as the Lord or as just a good teacher? Do you see Him as the Savior or as a man who lived a good life? You cannot receive from Him until you first see Him correctly. He is the Lord and the King of all heaven and earth. When we come to Him, there should be ease because He’s our Father, but there should also be reverence because He is the Creator and King.

Reflection

  • Consider who you say Jesus is.
  • Now reflect on your life and how you live and talk; is it consistent?
  • Can people see by how you live your life and how you talk that you’re a follower of Jesus?

If you haven’t declared Him as Lord, we encourage you to do that today.

About this Plan

Following Jesus at Christmas

Over the next twenty-five days, let’s celebrate the entrance of Jesus and the salvation He purchased. Like Mary did so many years ago, let’s make room for Jesus in our lives by making daily space and time for His Word. We encourage you to read the verse each day and reflect on Jesus’ character and nature. You’ll find that the more you study the Word of God, the more your life will begin to look like Jesus! This devotional will reflect on the humble and triumphant entrance of our Prince of Peace, Savior, Lord, and King.
