Following Jesus at ChristmasSample

This prophetic sign from God and affirmation of Jesus as His Son, with whom He was well pleased (Matthew 3:17), was the confirmation of Jesus’ divinity and His ability to fully save and redeem us from our sins. There needed to be a perfect lamb to take away the sin of the world. Thank You, Jesus! It also serves as a reminder of God’s approach as a Father; He loves and approves of us as His children. Once we are grafted into the family through faith in Jesus, we are now part of the family and accepted and loved by God. This gives us family grace and authority. That’s why Jesus told the story of the prodigal son coming home; even after the son wasted what his father gave him, his father responded with compassion, clothed him with new clothes, and restored the family signet ring, which represents authority. We have the signet ring as children of God; pray boldly!
Reflection
- Do you see yourself as a child loved by God?
- Do your perspective and identity match the way that God sees you?
Children have different rights and access to their parents, and in the same way, you’ll begin to walk in authority when you see yourself as a loved son or daughter.

About this Plan

Over the next twenty-five days, let’s celebrate the entrance of Jesus and the salvation He purchased. Like Mary did so many years ago, let’s make room for Jesus in our lives by making daily space and time for His Word. We encourage you to read the verse each day and reflect on Jesus’ character and nature. You’ll find that the more you study the Word of God, the more your life will begin to look like Jesus! This devotional will reflect on the humble and triumphant entrance of our Prince of Peace, Savior, Lord, and King.
