I Know a GuySample

We have listened to Jesus’ powerful words in one of his most well-known teachings. Next, we will read from the gospel of Mark and observe Jesus as he interacts with various people.
Read today’s scripture and use your imagination to step into each scene. Notice and imagine the details of what you see, what you hear, even what you might smell or taste, and what emotions are present.
Read Mark 8:22-38 and Mark 9:1.
- What do you notice about Jesus?
- What do you notice about how people interact with Jesus?
Peter’s interaction with Jesus in these verses is interesting. He understands that Jesus is the Messiah, the one God promised, but he doesn’t understand when Jesus describes his imminent suffering and rejection. Peter doesn’t see or understand Jesus completely. Can you relate?

About this Plan

Jesus is undoubtedly famous. You are likely familiar with some of His teachings, His story, and His impact. However, the more you get to know Him, the more you realize—there’s so much more to know! You are invited to spend 25 days not only deepening your knowledge of Jesus but also strengthening your relationship with Him. As you do that, it will open you up to Him and to more life-changing friendships with others.
