EquipHer Vol. 31: "Born to Thrive, Not Just Survive!"Sample

Day 5 – How to Lead from a Place of Overflow
In leadership, it is easy to fall into the belief that impact requires constant pouring—giving more, producing more, doing more. But that was never God’s design. He never intended for you to build from depletion. He created you to lead from His fullness.
Overflow is not a bonus. It is the blueprint.
From the beginning, God’s plan for His people has never been survival—but abundance. His provision is not a reward for performance. It is rooted in His promise and fulfilled through Jesus Christ. When we are in Him, we are not merely saved—we are adopted as daughters of the King and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). That means our inheritance includes access to wisdom, provision, favor, and strength—not only for our personal lives but also for the work He has entrusted to us.
Overflow does not happen by accident—it is cultivated. This leads us to the fifth principle we anchor ourselves in: true Kingdom leadership flows from overflow.
So what does it look like to lead from a place of overflow?
- Daily Connection to the Source - Before meetings, deadlines, and the decisions you're expected to make, return to the well that never runs dry. Prioritize God’s presence. Meet with God - your business partner - before you meet with your team.
- Steward What You Have - Overflow begins with what God has already placed in your hands. Like the widow in 2 Kings 4:1–7, when she began to pour what she already had, God multiplied it into more than enough.
- Create Boundaries - Not every opportunity is your assignment. Not every demand deserves your attention. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” (Proverbs 4:23, NIV). Overflow requires boundaries.
Psalm 23:5 gives us a stunning picture: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows." (NIV)
This is not survival. This is abundance. God does not simply fill your cup—He sets an entire table for you, even in the face of resistance. That is the kind of leadership He empowers. That is the inheritance of a daughter of God who walks in alignment with Him.
And when Jesus declared in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly,” (ESV). He was not promising a life free from challenge, He was offering a way to live in fullness despite the challenge. Abundance is not something we chase—it is something we inherit.
Today, we want to remind you that God has invited you to lead from a place of overflow, where your business becomes a testimony of His abundance and your life reflects the strength of His Spirit within you.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for being the One who prepares a table for me, even in the presence of challenges and opposition. Thank You that my cup is not only full—it overflows. I refuse to lead from lack or fear. I receive the abundant life You have promised, and I trust You to multiply what I place in Your hands. Let my leadership be marked by fullness, and may my business reflect Your provision, Your rhythm, and Your glory. Amen.
