30 Days of Praying for Children and FamiliesSample

Proverbs holds within its pages all sorts of wisdom for life. Here, right at the end of the book, we find these short verses that inspire us to ‘speak out’ for those who are voiceless.
While God sees, hears, and understands the needs of those who cannot speak, those who are destitute, in poverty, and in need, he still calls us to speak up on their behalf to those in authority.
Our words have power and potential to enact change. We can speak truth to power, share stories, and amplify the voices of those who are overlooked.
By simply listening to the personal stories of families in crisis, and children and young people in care, we can amplify their voices and call for change.
Prayer
As you read the news today, take a moment to lift to the Lord the needs of those who are suffering or facing injustice.
Be their advocate, as you cry out to God on their behalf. Bring their needs before the Lord, asking that he would defend their rights and restore their dignity.
Pray for the children and young people in care who are facing situations beyond their control. Pray for justice to be done, and their rights defended by those in authority.
