Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

The fool has said in his heart, “there is no God” (Psalm 53:1 NKJV).
Are you prepared to step into eternity and meet King Jesus?
In today’s reading, we delve into Jesus’ parable of the 10 virgins. He reveals, "Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish" (Matthew 25:2 NKJV). The foolish ones, despite having lamps, neglect to bring oil, unprepared for the bridegroom's arrival. The crucial lesson here is about readiness and anticipation—being prepared for an event that is certain but with an unknown timing.
Similarly, Jesus is coming again, and the question resonates: When? The key lies in daily preparation, walking with Him, and staying vigilant. This echoes Paul's admonition, "Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light. See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise" (Ephesians 5:14–15 NKJV).
Are you like the wise virgins, ready to meet the groom? Or will he catch you unprepared? I encourage you to center your focus this morning on living for Him, as tonight, you might step into eternity and stand before Him. Don't be caught unprepared to meet the Lord!
Employment Point: Be wise and daily expect His return.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
