Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Woe to the bloody city! (Nahum 3:1 NKJV).
Are you observing the warnings in the Bible?
In today’s reading, we learn that even amid judgment, God sends angels to proclaim the gospel to the whole earth, calling people to repentance. His heart is always for salvation. However, if people reject His warnings, He will judge them, for they are worthy of judgment.
Have you experienced God’s mercy in your own life when you should have received judgment? Are you extending God’s mercy and longsuffering to others? Today, reflect on God’s mercy in your life and then show that same grace to someone in need. Remember, God’s judgments are coming, and we should warn others to accept God’s mercy before it is too late.
Employment Point: Be encouraged that God’s warnings are not mere lip service.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
