Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Thus says the LORD of Hosts: “Consider your ways!” (Haggai 1:5 NKJV).
How can you experience the Lord’s blessing?
The saints addressed by the prophet neglect the rebuilding of the Temple in favor of constructing luxurious homes. This is why he writes, “You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but do not have enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages, earns wages to put into a bag with holes” (Haggai 1:6 NKJV).
Have you neglected your local church while you focus on improving your own home and living in luxury? Let’s not make the same mistakes that the people of Haggai’s day made. Therefore, let us prioritize the Lord in all aspects of our lives.
Employment Point: Serve God while awaiting His return to receive His favor.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
