A Fire Inside: 30 Day Devotional JourneySample

Day 5: Broken Spirit
The longer you live, the more life experience you have. And the more life experience you have, the more likely you are to encounter brokenness. Practically, I don't know what is worse: being broken-hearted or having a broken spirit—but having a contrite heart is entirely different. A contrite heart means you are sorry for what you did; essentially, you have a repentant heart. Psalm 51:17 reminds us that we can be confident that God will not turn away from us when we have a heart that is genuinely sorry. He welcomes us when we commune with him from an authentic place and own our messes. We are never shunned from God's presence. All glory to God!!!
Moment of Reflection:
Is there something that is weighing you down that you would like to confess to God? If so, know that He welcomes you to share it with Him.
