A Fire Inside: 30 Day Devotional JourneySample

Day 14: God’s Thoughts About Tomorrow
There were times during my recovery when I stared at the ceiling as I lay awake trying to rest. Not only did my body need time to recuperate, but I also needed time to rebuild my strength. During these times, I contemplated how I was spending my time. It felt like the world was swiftly passing me by. It felt like everything around me was moving at warp speed. Although it was frustrating to feel so restricted, it helped me really appreciate the importance of living in the present moment. I was challenged to let go of external pressures to perform. I embraced the idea of allowing God to prune and stretch me. As I did so, I leaned into James 4:13-15, which reminds us to rely on God's will and not boast about the future.
Moment of Reflection:
Are there areas in your life where you sense God’s call to slow down and truly engage with the world around you, to experience His peace rather than the world's demands?
