Thirty Days of VictorySample

David was a fierce warrior king, but he did not find his strength in himself. He found his strength in God, and through God's strength, secured many victories. Even when he was near death, he called out to God, and God delivered him from his troubles.

This entire Psalm is a beautiful song of gratitude for God's deliverance and victory over death and David's enemies. What kinds of enemies are you facing in your life? They may be tangible enemies or life situations. Are you trusting in God's strength to bring you victory? Or have you been trying to make everything work on your own? Have you been trying to mend relationships with your own ideas and efforts? Have you been working yourself to death to get ahead of deadlines and debts? Do you feel victorious by doing these things on your own, or are you exhausted, defeated, and worn out?

Verses 30-39 are some of my favorites in this psalm. David details God as a shield of protection, a sure foundation for his feet in battle. God's way is perfect, and he led him in every step of his fight. He guided his feet, his hands, and his direction. He was right next to David as he fought and supported him through his strength. God is the perfect partner to go into battle with. He brings strength, steadiness, and guidance to the chaos of our lives. When you look to him, he will lead you along a path that leads to victory, even if it takes some time.
