Awestruck: 30 Days of Wonder in the BibleSample

These words weren't written in comfort—they were penned in catastrophe.
Jerusalem had been destroyed. The temple, the center of worship, lay in ruins. Families were scattered into exile. Hope felt gone. Yet right in the middle of lament, Jeremiah declared that God's mercies are new every morning.
When everything around him had crumbled, when it would have been easy to say "God has abandoned us," Jeremiah chose to remember God's faithfulness. Not because his circumstances were good, but because God's character never changes.
In the ashes of devastation, Jeremiah pointed to a God whose compassion hadn't burned out.
Here's the wonder: mercy isn't tied to circumstances. It flows from God Himself, steady, faithful, and fresh each day.
When you woke up this morning, God's brand-new mercies greeted you.
Not recycled. New.
As you read your Bible, you're not just remembering ancient sorrow or relief. You're being reminded that even in the hardest seasons, God's mercies wait for you. As consistent and recurring as the sunrise.
Reflect:
How does knowing these words were written in devastation change their impact?
Tomorrow we'll discover the safest place in the universe—and it's closer than you think.
