We live in a world that moves fast—always reaching for the next thing, the next breakthrough, the next answered prayer. But in all our striving, we often forget to pause and remember. Scripture is full of commands to do just that: “Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered” (1 Chronicles 16:12, ESV).

“When is the last time you took the time to remember?”

The Israelites built altars to commemorate God’s acts of deliverance. Why? Because we are prone to forget. And when we forget, we lose perspective. Gratitude fades. Fear creeps in. But when we take time to remember, our faith is strengthened. We begin to trust that the same God who moved before will move again.

Maybe you’re in a season where it’s hard to see what God is doing right now. If so, pause and look back. What has He already done in your life? Let those memories fuel your faith. Let that gratitude rise up into worship.
