Cultivating Daily Devotion
Joshua 1:8 - "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." (ESV)
Devotion to God doesn't grow by accident but through daily discipline. Joshua 1:8 reminds us that meditating on God's Word day and night leads to wisdom, strength, and success—not just in career, but in character and calling.
Meditation means more than reading—dwelling on truth, letting it sink deep, and shaping how you think and act. It becomes the filter for your decisions and the anchor for your soul.
Daily devotion isn't about checking a box. It's about connecting with God, slowing down, tuning in, and letting His voice guide your day.
Think about your current rhythm. Do you prioritize time with God? Or is it squeezed out by distractions? If you want to grow, you need time with the One who gives growth.
Start with consistency, not perfection. Even a few focused minutes can center your heart and refocus your purpose. When you cultivate devotion, you'll notice the shift in your thinking, choices, and peace.
Challenge:
Set a specific time for devotion each day this week. Make space for God's Word and guard that time as a priority.
Prayer:
Lord, grow in me a hunger for Your Word. Help me make time each day to sit with You and let Your truth shape my life. Amen.
