Living with Integrity
Psalm 15:1-2 - "O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart." (ESV)
Integrity is who you are when no one is watching. It's living truthfully and consistently, not to impress others, but because you want to honor God. Psalm 15 paints a picture of the life that pleases the Lord—a life marked by honesty, righteousness, and inner alignment between belief and behavior.
Our culture often celebrates convenience over conviction. But God calls us to live with integrity, even when it costs us something. Whether it's being honest on a tax return, keeping a promise, or refusing to gossip at work—these everyday choices matter. They build a life of trustworthiness and strength.
Integrity isn't about being perfect. It's about being consistent, dependable, and authentic. It's recognizing when we fall short, making it right, and returning to a path of righteousness. Living this way brings peace. You don't have to maintain a false image or remember what mask you wore yesterday. You're free to be the same person in private as in public.
Integrity is foundational for leadership, relationships, and influence. Your presence carries weight when people know they can count on your word. More importantly, God honors the man who lives with integrity, not for applause, but as an act of worship.
Today, evaluate whether your public life and private life match. Ask God to reveal any gap between who you say you are and how you live. Then, take steps toward realignment.
Challenge:
Examine one area of your life where integrity could be strengthened. Commit to one concrete action to restore or reinforce honesty and consistency.
Prayer:
Lord, I want to live with integrity. Please help me be honest, consistent, and true in my public and private life. Where I've drifted, lead me back into alignment with You. Amen.
