Threads: How the Bible Weaves TogetherSample

Day 10: David’s Covenant
Daily Thread: God’s covenant with David promised that his throne would endure forever. David came from the tribe of Judah, fulfilling Jacob’s prophecy in Genesis 49:10 that “the scepter will not depart from Judah.” A scepter is a royal staff or rod that symbolizes the authority of a king. By promising David an eternal throne, God tied His covenant with Abraham to the hope of a future king, ultimately fulfilled in Christ, the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
