Hi there, Matthew West here to share today’s Scripture: Psalm 71:8 (NIV).

“My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring Your splendor all day long.”

When I read this verse, I think about all the words that come out of my mouth each day. One moment, I’m thanking God for an answered prayer; the next, I’m complaining because He hasn’t moved the way I hoped. It’s amazing how quickly I can forget His faithfulness.

Here’s the reality: I get to choose what fills my mouth - and my mouth will reveal what’s in my heart. Jesus said it this way in Luke 6:45 (NIV): “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” If I want praise and truth to come from my lips, I have to be intentional about what I plant in my heart.

So let me ask you - what’s filling your heart right now?

Is it endless scrolling… or God’s Word?

Bitterness… or His mercy?

Old wounds… or His healing?

Psalm 119:11 (NIV) shows us where to start: “I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You.”

And notice—Psalm 71:8 doesn’t just tell us to praise. It calls us to declare His splendor all day long. That’s bold. It reminds me of the lyrics from my song Unashamed:

“I’m unashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ,

And the truth that changed my life…

For the One who took my shame - I’m unashamed.”

Declaring His splendor means living unafraid to speak about His goodness—whether life feels easy or hard.

Your challenge today:

1. Ask God to fill your heart with what’s good and true.
2. Let it overflow into your words.
3. Unashamedly declare His goodness—all day long.
