Kingdom Story Company Month of the Bible Reading Plan

DAY 16 OF 30

Day 16 – Hope in Standing Up for Others

In the film WHITE BIRD, Julien doesn’t have to risk his safety to help Sara. He has his own challenges—struggling to fit in, facing ridicule at school, and carrying the weight of his family’s survival during a dangerous time. Yet he makes the courageous choice to protect her, guiding her through the dark, treacherous paths of Nazi-occupied France and offering her refuge in his home. His bravery reminds us that hope often comes through action: standing for what is right, even when it’s inconvenient or dangerous.

Just like the white bird that becomes a symbol of hope for Sara, our courage can point others toward hope when they feel trapped by fear or uncertainty.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  • Who in your life or community is vulnerable and needs someone to stand for them?
  • When have you faced fear in doing what’s right, and how did God give you courage?
  • What might it look like for you to take a brave step on behalf of someone who can’t help themselves?
