Praying for Our NeighboursSample

This week, you learned as a family what it means to love and pray for your neighbours. We talked about welcoming people into our community and homes, being a good friend, praying for others and loving them, and what it means to make disciples and tell people about Jesus.

But did you know that there are over 2 billion people in the world who have not yet heard about Jesus? These families have no Christian families in their community who can share the love of Jesus with them.

Maybe you cannot go today and tell them yourself because they live far away, in a dangerous area, or speak a language you cannot speak. But there is something you can do... You can pray!

The Bible passage today teaches us to:

• Pray for all people

• Pray for their needs

• Pray for kings and other country leaders to make decisions that lead to peace

• Pray that all people will be saved and hear the truth about Jesus

Discuss:

• How can you, as a family, pray for people who have not yet heard about Jesus?

• Who can you ask to join you in praying for people around the world?

Prayer:

Choose a country on the world map and pray for the needs of the people in this country, for the leaders of the country, and for everyone in this country to hear the good news that Jesus came to save them.
