Tatenda, his two sisters, and his parents loaded the last bag into the car. His family was not going on holiday; far more exciting, they were going on a mission trip with their church. They travelled with a church group from Zimbabwe to Mozambique to support a missionary family with a local outreach.

Being the second youngest in the group, Tatenda figured he would not really get a chance to share his faith with anyone, but instead, to show God’s love to the children in Mozambique by playing football with them. Imagine his surprise when, during an outreach, one of the team leaders invited him to share his faith with two teenagers they had just met. The team leader later described the meeting by saying, “With knees quaking, Tatenda shared his faith while the teenagers listened attentively and decided to give their lives to Jesus!”

Tatenda spent the rest of the trip mostly with playing sports, babysitting, and helping with Sunday School. On his way back, he was reminded that he was the hands and feet of God while bringing the good news to this beautiful part of Mozambique, far from his own home in Zimbabwe.
