God Our Healer

DAY 3 OF 30

“The God Who Keeps You”

Deuteronomy 7 is a chapter filled with reminders of God’s covenant and faithfulness. As the Israelites stood on the edge of the Promised Land, Moses reminded them of God’s promises, not only to bring them into the land but to protect and preserve them in it.

In verse 15, God makes a bold and comforting promise: “The Lord will keep you free from every disease…” This was more than a physical blessing. It was a reflection of His covenant love and His personal care for a people set apart for Himself.

God’s protection comes with His presence. This promise wasn’t isolated. It was rooted in the context of a relationship with God. The people were called to love Him, follow His commands, and live differently from the nations around them.

And in return, God promised protection, provision, and health. These were all signs that He was with them. This reminds us today that God’s nearness is still our greatest protection. God is still our Healer today!

While we live in a broken and fallen world, we will still face sickness and hardship, but we don’t walk through it alone. God is still Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. His power to heal hasn’t changed, and neither has His heart to care for His people.

Sometimes healing comes instantly. Sometimes gradually. And sometimes, God strengthens us through the trial rather than removing it.

But this much is true: He sees, He knows, and He keeps us near Him in the midst of it.

Questions for Reflection:

  • Where are you relying on your own strength instead of God's covering?
  • Do you truly believe God is still your healer and protector today?
  • How can you cultivate deeper trust in His care, even when circumstances are uncertain?

Prayer:

Father God, thank You that You are the God who heals and keeps me. Even when the world feels uncertain, I trust in Your covering and care. Help me to walk in obedience, faith, and peace—knowing that You are faithful to Your promises. Heal what is broken in my life and remind me daily that I am held in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
