Transformed by the MessiahSample

Day 5: When His Story Becomes Your Story
Everything in the Bible ties together, from Jesus being the messianic King born in a cave and wrapped in old priestly garments, worshiped by the shepherds and magi alike, baptized by the Holy Spirit through an immersion by John the Baptist, and led into Jerusalem on a donkey, to His dying on Good Friday as the Passover Lamb. It’s all connected!
God’s intention is that we know the Old and the New Testaments. That we study to show ourselves approved (2 Tim. 2:15 NIV). The gift of God’s Word found in the Torah, the first five books given to Moses, is relevant whether you are Jewish or Christian. We can find incredible wisdom, revelation, and understanding throughout its pages.
The same is true for the Gospels and the story of the early church. Too often, Christians settle for the new treasures and Jewish people settle for the old treasures, but the full inheritance is the old and the new coming together. Why settle for half an inheritance? Beauty, wisdom, and revelation come when the Old and the New Testaments connect.
This is a not an obligation but a divine invitation. The invitation to Christians is to explore your Jewish roots, understand the biblical holidays, and incorporate biblical wisdom into your prayers. For Jewish people, it is to embrace the abundant life available in the fulfillment of God’s promises to Abraham in Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Messiah.
Does your heart burn, sensing God is near, wanting to know more of His Word and how to apply it to your own life? Consider the words of the apostle Rabbi Paul found in Romans 12:1–2: “I urge you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice—holy, acceptable to God—which is your spiritual service. Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect” (emphasis added).
Because through all of it, His story, the story of Yeshua Jesus the Messiah, is there ready and waiting to become your story.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for how beautifully the Scriptures tie together. Would you deepen my understanding and my trust in You as I engage your Word, by Your Spirit? Amen.
About this Plan

It is amazing to consider how God worked out the details in the story of sending His Son to redeem His people in so many beautiful ways. Let’s look at a few of the details surrounding the resurrection of Jesus, how His triumph over the grave fulfilled prophecies in the Lord’s plan, and the transformative hope it provided for all who would surrender our lives to Him.
