The Keys of the KingdomSample

The Keys of the Kingdom

DAY 2 OF 7

Our purpose is to partner with what Father is doing on the earth.

Jesus partnered so wonderfully with what His Father was doing on the earth, and every time He did, it was an expression of the kingdom of God. Whether it was healing a physical illness, driving out a demon, or leading someone into eternal life, every miracle was evidence that the kingdom of heaven had come near.

Now we have the privilege and the responsibility of continuing the reality of God’s kingdom rule that Jesus reinstated while He was on the earth. Through us, the Holy Spirit still wants to heal people, set them free, and save them into eternal life – He wants to do all of this through God’s children!

And it doesn’t stop there! God’s desire is for saved people to become sanctified people; that is, He wants believers to become more like Jesus. This is the essence of what Jesus meant when He said that He is building His church. It is to these people that Jesus has given the keys of the kingdom of heaven.

There are logos keys and there are rhema keys.

Logos keys are master keys, and they are for every believer, everywhere, all of the time. These are truths found in God’s Word that are timeless and powerful. These are keys common to all, and if used correctly, they will result in ‘on earth as it is in heaven’.

Can you think of some logos keys that God has given to us as followers of Jesus?

Rhema keys are individual keys for specific people, at specific times, for a specific purpose. The Holy Spirit often illuminates a now word from God’s Word that becomes a rhema key to a person for a time and a purpose. Rhema keys can also be a directive from the Holy Spirit that you know He has spoken into your heart to do something that He has authored for you to do. These keys are essential to accomplish God’s will ‘on earth as it is in heaven’.

What rhema keys has God spoken to you? Are you using them as God intended them to be used?

About this Plan

The Keys of the Kingdom

Jesus told His disciples that He would give them the keys of the kingdom. But what are these keys, what is their purpose, and how do we use them? In this 7-day devotional plan from Steve McCracken, discover the difference between logos master keys and rhema individual keys, and be equipped to partner with God’s intention to see His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven!
