Weary: Holding on to God's Word in Hard Times

DAY 2 OF 6

Who Is He That Helps The Weary

You may have heard part of this verse before: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.” Isaiah 40:31 (NIV). But who is this Lord? And why can we trust Him? From Isaiah 40 alone, we see that God comforts and forgives, His Word endures forever, He is all-powerful, and He never grows weary.

Sometimes our struggles can keep us from seeing who God truly is. But if you’ve placed your hope in Jesus, know that you’re trusting in a personal God who sees you, cares about your struggles, and will renew your strength.

So let us find rest for our weary souls by looking to the only One who will renew our strength, time and time again.

Reflection:

  • When you're weak, unmotivated, and restless, where do you find your strength?
  • How can you reorient your mind to look to God instead?

Prayer:

God, I thank You for Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, which has made it possible for me to be united with You.I pray you would help my heart to rely on Your strength alone. Lord please reveal to me the things I’ve been turning to for strength instead of You, and help me to place You first in all things. In Jesus Name, Amen.
