Be Your Best to Give Your Best!Sample

Day 7 — Easier Said Than Done
Our purpose can’t be fulfilled without intentional management of priorities.
Once we understand the value of having a clear vision, the next step is to live in alignment with it. However, here lies one of the greatest challenges we face: wrestling with the implementation of the way we want to live our lives versus how God intends us to live our lives.
Living a life of reaction - priorities pursued because they capture the majority of our attention, time, and energy - can lead to deep misalignment with our real God-given purpose.
Jesus Himself addressed this when He visited the home of Martha and Mary in Bethany. While Martha was overwhelmed with the urgency of household chores, Mary sat at Jesus’ feet to listen. Martha felt frustrated and complained about being left alone with all the work, but Jesus responded with gentle firmness: “Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:42, NIV). Jesus was clearly teaching Martha that there is a difference between what seems urgent and what is truly important.
How often do we find ourselves, like Martha, busy, anxious, and even frustrated because we are not advancing what matters most to us?
The truth is that we cannot follow the vision God has placed in our hearts if our actions are not aligned with it.
Think about a recent moment when your daily actions did not align with the vision you hold in your heart: why was there a lack of alignment? How did this affect you and those around you?
Prayer: Lord, give me eyes to recognize what truly matters. Teach me to choose what is better, even when everything around me feels urgent and demands my attention. I want my choices to reflect the vision You have entrusted to me and that I have chosen to pursue. Amen.
