Searching For Innocence

“It’s innocence this kid is searching for.” Innocence isn’t ignorance. It’s a heart free from cynicism, cleansed from shame, and open to joy again. Life can make us calloused. Pain makes us guarded. The cry of this song is a return to purity of heart. To recapture childlike innocence, to be teachable again, ready to be formed like clay in the Potter’s hands.

God, purify my heart. Remove the layers I’ve built to protect myself from disappointment. I want joy again. I want wonder again. I want to believe with that same spark I had when I first met You.
