21 Days to Overcome StressSample

Rest — But Don’t Quit!
As a woman, one of the most important things to remember when you are evaluating all that you do, all that others want you to do, all that your family requires, and all that is urgent, is that it isn’t God’s will for you to live a life of stress. Did Jesus go to the cross so we could live full of anxiety each day? Most assuredly not!
Philippians 4:6 (NIV) tells us with all certainty: “Do not be anxious about anything.” Anything! There will certainly be some seasons that are busier and more demanding than others, but when you partner with God, you can walk through even those days with peace in your heart.
There will also be seasons in life when you will have to learn how to rest, but not quit. Only a woman whose heart is centered on eternity will be able to navigate busyness while continuing to keep a calm heart, a peaceful countenance, and a gracious voice. In the most pressured and overloaded times of life, your faith will guide you, keep you, and control you.
Weary Yet Pursuing
Gideon was an extraordinary leader who delivered Israel from the Midianites. He heard the voice of God and obeyed His explicit instructions, leading him to win one of military history’s most compelling battles. With God’s power, Gideon and his band of 300 men routed an army of 120,000, and most of the enemy forces were killed. Immediately after their unlikely victory, the Lord called Gideon’s 300-man army to keep pursuing the 15,000 remaining soldiers and their leaders. (See Judges 7–8).
The key is found in Judges 8:4… weary, yet pursuing. Just like Gideon, when we get to the end of ourselves, we are more apt to surrender our will, our plans, and our ways to God because we know that we can’t survive without Him. If you are at that infamous “end of the rope” today, I encourage you to declare this verse aloud:
Then Gideon and the 300 men who were with him came to the Jordan and crossed over, weary yet pursuing. - Judges 8:4
God loves to infuse weakened and weary women with His supernatural strength and joy. It’s what He does best!
DAILY DEPOSIT:
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13 NASB1995
