Loving Your Neighbor

DAY 4 OF 5

Love One Another

Jesus commanded us to love one another and to put this love into practice.

Hatred, prejudice, segregation, racism, oppression, deception, lies, greed, exploitation, injustice, envy, jealousy, pride, arrogance, hypocrisy, idolatry, neglect, unforgiveness, and resentment—these are all ways we separate ourselves from our brothers and sisters in Christ. They sound wrong and heavy, yet at some point, we all fall into these traps, sometimes without even realizing it.

That’s why we must remain aware—so we can improve, become better versions of ourselves, and align with God’s will.

As Jesus said: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13:34).

About this Plan

Loving Your Neighbor

Loving your neighbor was central to Jesus’ teachings — second only to loving God. But “neighbor” doesn’t just mean friends or people we like. It includes everyone: the difficult, the broken, even those who wrong us. Jesus modeled this by loving sinners, outsiders, and asking forgiveness for His enemies. This devotional calls us to reflect that same love in real ways — feeding the hungry, forgiving freely, and letting go of judgment. True love starts with knowing God, caring for ourselves, and allowing that love to overflow into action. Loving others isn’t optional — it’s how we live like Jesus.
