Loving Your Neighbor

DAY 3 OF 5

Find Your Way to Love

Everyone expresses love for their neighbor in different ways. For me, what touched my soul was witnessing homelessness and hunger.

Since I was young, I felt called to act. Growing up in Rio, I saw people living in parks, under bridges, asking for help in the streets. When I moved to the U.S., I dreamed that one day Brazil would have the same opportunities. But over the years, through world crises and a global pandemic, homelessness and hunger have risen everywhere.

More than ever, I knew it was time to act. That’s how Food4Brothers was born. The idea was simple: If everyone feeds one, we feed millions.

“If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light shall dawn in the darkness, and your darkness shall be as the noonday.” – Isaiah 58:10

Jesus made it clear: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” (Matthew 25:35).

About this Plan

Loving Your Neighbor

Loving your neighbor was central to Jesus’ teachings — second only to loving God. But “neighbor” doesn’t just mean friends or people we like. It includes everyone: the difficult, the broken, even those who wrong us. Jesus modeled this by loving sinners, outsiders, and asking forgiveness for His enemies. This devotional calls us to reflect that same love in real ways — feeding the hungry, forgiving freely, and letting go of judgment. True love starts with knowing God, caring for ourselves, and allowing that love to overflow into action. Loving others isn’t optional — it’s how we live like Jesus.
