Day 10: This Means War:
Congratulations! You’ve made it to the final day of the Christ Killers plan. But the end of this devotional isn’t the end of your journey—it’s a call to step into the real fight. Because following Jesus isn’t just about internal transformation. It’s about stepping into spiritual warfare.
The Christian life is not a playground—it’s a battleground. And the enemy is real.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8, NIV).
The moment you placed your trust in Jesus, you became a target. The enemy lost his grip on your soul, but he’s still coming for your peace, your purpose, your purity, and your influence. That’s why Scripture warns us: stay alert. Be watchful. Don’t coast through life unaware of the war you’re in.
Paul breaks it down clearly in Ephesians 6:11-12 (ESV): “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness.”
Your fight isn’t against people—it’s against powers. And the battlefield isn’t somewhere out there—it’s inside your mind, your desires, your decisions.
The enemy knows he can’t steal your salvation, so he aims to steal your effectiveness. And he often does it subtly—through temptation, distraction, pride, fear, or isolation. Sin never announces itself boldly at first. It starts small. Harmless. Almost justifiable.
But James 1:15 (ESV) exposes the strategy: “Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.”
It’s a slow fade. One compromise at a time. One excuse at a time. Until death—of relationships, calling, and spiritual vitality—starts to take root.
But here’s the good news: You’re not powerless. Because of Jesus, the war has already been won. If you belong to Christ, sin no longer owns you.
“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24, ESV).
This isn’t behavior modification—it’s heart transformation. When you said yes to Jesus, your old self was nailed to the cross. That means you don’t fight for victory—you fight from it. The blood of Jesus didn’t just forgive you; it freed you.
So now, you armor up. You stay alert. You walk in step with the Spirit, and you live like someone who’s already been rescued—because you have been.
The world needs more than casual Christians. It needs warriors—men and women who understand that salvation is a call to arms, and holiness is a lifelong battle worth fighting.
The war is real. But so is your victory.
So go. Live free. Live on mission. And never forget—this means war.
Thank you for joining me on this 10-day Christ Killers journey. I pray these devotionals have not only challenged you but awakened you—to the weight of sin, the depth of grace, and the fierce love of Jesus that called you out of death and into life. This isn’t just about avoiding sin—it’s about killing it before it kills what matters most.
If this plan spoke to you, there’s more. My new book, Christ Killers, dives deeper into the spiritual battle we all face, unpacking what it truly means to crucify the flesh, follow Jesus fully, and live free from the grip of sin. The full book is a raw, honest look at the lies we believe, the traps we fall into, and the Savior who breaks every chain.
