Legacy of Faith: 7 Conditions for Your Family’s Answered PrayersSample

The widow kept coming to a judge seeking justice. This judge didn't fear God, but because of her persistence, he finally granted her request.
When our youngest child was sick with a high fever, my wife and I took turns praying over our child through the night. We joined hands by the bedside and prayed in agreement, declaring God's promises of healing. We didn't just pray once and walk away. We persisted. By morning, that fever broke. Matthew 18:19 (NKJV) tells us, “If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”
When believers agree in prayer, spiritual power multiplies. One can put a thousand to flight, but two can put ten thousand to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30). How can you be like that persistent widow? When you pray with persistence and in agreement, you are activating the supernatural power of God.
Family Reflection
Think of a specific time you wanted to give up in prayer. What helped you keep praying even when you didn't see immediate results?
·Have someone in your family read Luke 18:1–8. What impresses you about this widow's determination? In Jesus' day, widows had no social standing or financial security. She had nothing in the world’s eyes; how does it change your view of her bold persistence before the judge? What might God be teaching you about persistent prayer?
Key Takeaway
When your family persists in prayer, you don’t just see circumstances change — you change in the process! Persistent, united prayer builds spiritual muscles and deepens the way your family connects and strengthens you in daily challenges.
Declaration Prayer
Heavenly Father, we stand as a family before Your throne today. Just as you hear the voice of a persistent widow, we know You hear our voice. Your Word promises that when two or more agree, it will be done by our Father in Heaven. We pray you would help us to be marked by unity. Thank You for supernatural power when circumstances tell us to give up. We stand firmly on Your promises, and we will not quit praying until we see Your hand move. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Practical Challenge
As a family, how can you cultivate agreement in prayer? Make prayer cards with each person's requests, then share updates during this week. Watch how praying together strengthens your family's unity.
