Healer: Encountering the God Who Restores

DAY 5 OF 7

Day 5: Worship and Healing

Mountaintop moments make it easy to worship, but some of the most powerful healing happens when we choose to worship in the middle of our pain. Worship means so much more when it costs us something.

Psalm 34 was born in a cave—words David penned while on the run, uncertain of his future, and wrestling with deep pain. And still, he said, “I will bless the Lord at all times” (Psalm 34:1 NIV).

All times. His worship went beyond the good times. David worshipped through all seasons, not just when he felt strong or whole or safe.

Worship in hard seasons requires surrender. It’s choosing to lift your eyes when your heart feels heavy. It’s saying, “God, You are still worthy,” even when you feel broken.

And when you do that, something shifts your perspective:

  • Worship changes your focus.
  • It disarms fear.
  • It opens space in your heart for the healing presence of God to move in.

Today, whether your heart is light or burdened, take a moment to worship. Not because your situation has changed, but because God is unchanging, forever the same.

Today’s Declaration

I choose to worship—even here and now—because You are good and You are near.

A Moment of Reflection

  • How has worship helped you in past seasons of struggle or sorrow?
  • What might change if you began this day, this moment, with praise?

A Prayer to Begin

Father, I worship You today because You are faithful. Help me lift my eyes above the pain, confusion, or discouragement I feel. Let worship be my refuge. Let it open my heart to receive more of You—and let Your presence bring healing in ways I don’t see yet. In Jesus’ name, amen.
