TRUST GOD TO GUIDE YOU WITH HIS WISDOM
James 1:5-6 (NLT): "If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind."
Mindful Minute: A lot of wisdom is required to understand the consequences of our choices regarding our bad habits. We certainly possess enough personal wisdom to understand the consequences of engaging in it.
Godly wisdom is something different. It involves going outside of ourselves to understand and feel the depth of His love and trust that there is a better plan for us.
As far as our habit and life-interfering behavior is concerned, we can commit to undivided loyalty moving forward. Unhindered faith is trust that produces action. Once we allow a divided loyalty to this or any other life-interfering behavior or habit, we feel unsettled, and struggle sets in.
The picture of being tossed at sea is a powerful analogy. Instead, we ask God for His wisdom as we navigate this path called life.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for allowing me to access your godly wisdom. I do not wish to feel like I am tossed at sea. If tempted, I will look up with great faith and not waver. I know there is a better plan, and I cannot wait to experience it. Thank you, Jesus, for your great sacrifice so I can move forward and not be encumbered by what is behind me. Amen.
