LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST CARRY YOU THROUGH TROUBLE
John 16:33 (NLT): "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world."
Mindful Minute: For many, this life-interfering behavior formed over a long period of time.
It may have started out innocently enough, as we told ourselves it was okay to engage because it created an escape from the stressors of everyday life. We were looking for peace in something that was of this world and turned our attention away from God.
God has a plan, and we trust He is in control. We can gain the peace that surpasses human understanding. We find different mechanisms to cope with the trials and sorrows of this world and consider alternative strategies in place of our old habits.
Make sure you are diligent to replace the old habit/behavior with a new one. Breathe, meditate on God’s Word, pray, or engage with someone you want to connect with. Divert your attention to something productive. Over time, with the help of the Holy Spirit, these things will become a new habit to deal with the stresses and anxieties of life.
Prayer: Father, grant peace as I walk through trying times. You have already written the ending, and I know you use all things for good for those who love you. I love you, Father. I will trust in you as I walk this path and meditate on your Word each day. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
