God Is Our Superhero

Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.

We all love a good superhero story. Invincible strength, special powers, and hightech gadgets overcome danger and doom. Good triumphs over evil and saves the day. We’d welcome a superhero if our car slid into a ditch or a threatening storm was in the forecast. We wish we could summon a hero at any moment we’re in trouble.

What do we do when problems crash into our lives? In the middle of a crisis, who can we call for help? Our Lord is better than any superhero we could imagine. He’s real. With Him, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). He is able to do more than all we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Our powerful, unstoppable God is full of love. He listens to our prayers when we cry for help. He’s always close and holds us in His hands. Nothing we face is too difficult for Him to handle. We can find peace knowing He’s always on our side.
