Through the Word: Knowing God, Making Him KnownSample

A Lifestyle of Repentance and Freedom:
As we walk with Jesus in the light, we can often be afflicted by our un-dealt-with past and sin. In this world, there is a real enemy that tries to steal, kill, and destroy… But Jesus came to give life and life abundant! Just as the man who was tormented by demons in Mark 5 was set free by Jesus, so too does Jesus offer freedom to all who come to Him. For some, freedom may happen in a moment, while for others, it may be a gradual process of healing over time. Either way, as His children, we are healed and set free because of His great love for us. We know Jesus is a healer because of his victory on the cross, his death, burial, and resurrection, defeating sin forever. Now, since you have identified with the resurrection of Jesus, you have victory over sin and darkness! Jesus has made a way for us to fully turn away from all brokenness and receive His truth and freedom in all parts of our lives.
Take time to spend with the Lord and ask Him if there is any area in your life where you need deliverance or freedom. After listening to Him, pray these four things, known as the Four R's:
1. Repent: Turn away from anything that has separated you from God or held you captive (sin or disobedience).
“Lord Jesus, I repent of everything that I have done that has separated me from you. I know you haven’t left me, I know your love will never fail me, but Jesus, I have fallen short of what you have asked me, and I repent. Amen.”
2. Rebuke: Stand firm against the enemy, rebuking Satan, his lies, and any demonic forces that have influenced your life.
“God, we rebuke the devil and his schemes over my life. There is nothing that the devil can do to me anymore because I have been bought by the blood of Jesus and have authority over the Devil. So Devil, leave in Jesus' name! I rebuke you in the name of the Father God! Amen!”
3. Receive: Open your heart to receive the love and healing that God offers you, accepting His truth over your life.
“Jesus, I receive your love and your heart for me. Even though it may be hard for me to receive love from you, I accept it right now. Thank you for your forgiveness and the great love that you displayed on the cross for me. Amen.”
4. Replace: Replace the lies you’ve believed with the truth that God says about you—truth grounded in His Word and His love for you.
“God, thank you for forgiving me and making me brand new in this life. I replace what I have been struggling with with love, joy, and peace. Sin has no hold on me because it has been replaced by the eternal love of God. Amen”
These steps will guide you toward freedom and healing, allowing God's truth to replace every lie and bringing you into the fullness of His love.
