Instructive Pathways to Kingdom Wealth

DAY 9 OF 30

THE DANGER OF JUSTIFYING DISOBEDIENCE

A major disqualifier from kingdom wealth is the attempt to justify disobedience with religious acts. A brother once did horticultural work for his church—where he had been spiritually nourished—and inflated the bill threefold. When questioned by a fellow believer in the same field, he said, “Don’t worry, I’ll double my tithe.” That mindset will keep him locked in struggle. God’s supply doesn’t come to those who cut corners; it comes to those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11 KJV). Kingdom wealth requires covenant alignment, not clever manipulation.

Even God does not accept just anything. When He sent Saul to utterly destroy the Amalekites, the instruction was clear—take nothing. But Saul and his men chose differently. When Samuel confronted him, Saul responded with a religious excuse: “We kept the best for sacrifice.” Samuel’s answer remains a guiding light: “To obey is better than sacrifice.” Obedience qualifies you for divine trust. Jesus faced the same test. Satan showed Him the kingdoms of the world and offered them in exchange for worship—but Jesus refused. If the glitter of the world meant nothing to Him, it should mean nothing to you. Let God’s reward system be enough for you.

There are moments you will know that what is being offered to you is the “king’s meat”—disguised flattery or compromise. You must be spiritually intelligent to back out. If you cannot reject ungodly offers now, you will never qualify for the real thing later. God trains your heart to resist what is flashy, so you can receive what is eternal. Don’t fall for the alternative provision; God’s package is always better.

THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Am I attempting to cover disobedience with religious activity? Do I truly believe that God’s way is better than any alternative the world offers?

PRAYER:
Lord, I receive grace to walk in full obedience and to resist every flattering or corrupt offer in Jesus’ name. Amen.
